Rockshield
Rockshield is a flexible mechanical protection padding consisting of a tough High Density Polyethylene or Polypropylene mesh, designed especially for the protection of anti-corrosion coatings of pipelines laid in rocky terrain and back fill
It is designed to be applied over tape , extruded PE coating as well as FBE, Coal Tar or Asphalt Enamel coated pipe.
Rockshield provides the protection needed for pipeline coatings without blocking cathodic protection current. Its unique diamond shape (3.5 or 3.1 diamonds per inch) and design will not damage the primary coating system and provides protection to the pipeline coating from impact and indentation forces and abrasive movements below the ground. It provides extra padding protection by incorporating a special expansion process to provide compressive strength and flexibility. Its unique flat surface will not damage soft coatings.

Rockshield is supplied as rolls which can be cut to size in the field or as pre-cut sheets to custom fit the pipe diameter. Each sheet is adhered to the pipe using Rockshield tape or plastic buckles/ tie wraps. Following are the type of wrapping
